Refugees can be hired into permanent, temp or fixed term jobs

The answer to question 47 of our Frequently Asked Questions confirms that refugees may demonstrate their work entitlement through their Biometric Residence Permit or Immigration Status Document. When it indicates that the holder has limited permission to be in the UK, the check must be repeated when the permission comes to an end to retain the (entitlement). In permitting this employment and in demonstrating this right to work, for refugees no distinction is made between permanent and temporary employment. Accordingly, there is no immigration restriction that prevents a migrant from accepting and retaining a position that is considered permanent whist they remain a refugee.
