Transitions' mission is to support equitable employment for refugee professionals in London. That is, it supports skilled people towards employers with skilled jobs and vice versa.
A structured work experience programme. Work experience is an opportunity to demonstrate skills, build a profile with a potential employer and potentially enhance competitiveness.
A Professional profiling and career planning service guiding candidates in researching their occupation and sector in the UK, matching their skills and experience with relevant roles, career planning for the short, medium and longterm, connecting with Professional Bodies & Naric and building a supportive professional network of people to assist them.
A quality jobsearch service, with 1-1 guidance and workshops and seminars with corporates and employed candidates.
A social enterprise employment Agency.
At the end of November 2016, 51% of Transitions candidates since 2011 had been hired into professional jobs (ie 59 professionals out of 139 professionals).
There are no easy answers to finding skilled employment as a refugee.
It takes time, detail and a lot of effort by all involved. However, it is possible.
We provide employers with graduate and experienced professionals employment agency services, 3-6 month work experience placements and commissionable corporate workshops for staff volunteering and staff development.
We provide candidates with specialist career guidance, enabling them to showcase transferable skills and experience to employers. Most candidates are engineers, business or international development professionals. Transitions London C.I.C. is a Community Interest Company, a type of social enterprise. We believe that responsible businesses can play a instrumental part in bringing skilled refugees into the UK labour market. This alongside publicly funded services, which have suffered profound cuts and which we are collaboratively lobbying to be restored.
As a Community Interest Company, regulated by Companies House, Transitions recycles any profits back into its services.
